Skipper Family

Prepare yourself for some of the most adorable pictures of the sweetest family you have ever seen.  My job is simple when you have beautiful subjects like these.  Every single one of these pictures turned out amazing.  I tried my best to narrow down only a few favorites, it wasn’t easy…I know I say that all the time…but seriously, just take a look!

2015 Wrap Up

2015 was such a big year!  For so long I have been encouraged to follow my dreams of having my own photography business and I finally made the leap this year, and I couldn’t be more thankful that I did!  This year brought me so much joy and excitement for my photography.  I have to say I have truly been blessed, and I am so excited to see where 2016 takes me.  To wrap up the year I wanted to pick my top ten favorite pictures from this year’s sessions.  It was hard to do, I truly loved every single one and narrowing down just a few wasn’t easy…in fact so difficult that I left it at 14 and couldn’t cut anymore.  Please enjoy my top picks from 2015…

I cannot thank each of my clients enough for making 2015 as successful as it has been for me.  Without each of you, it would not be possible for me to follow my dreams.  I have so many amazing sessions already scheduled for 2016 and I know that is just a tip of the iceberg at what the year holds in store for me.  Thank you again, each of you, from the bottom of my heart…and thank you God for blessing me and helping me follow this dream of mine.  It was a fantastic 2015, now lets make 2016 even better!

Happy New Year!!!!

Baby N Newborn Session

SM1

This sweet baby boy could not have been any more precious for the camera.  He was two weeks old at the time of his session and he was showing off his ability to stay awake! Thankfully we were able to get some really good poses, and picking a few “favorites” from his session was almost impossible!

SM2a

I always make it a point to get pictures of the baby feet, there is something about those tiny toes that I just can’t get over.  Baby N’s feet were too precious and I loved seeing the flaky skin in this picture.  Be still my heart!

SM3

I love the expression on his face, “you said one more picture thirty minutes ago!”

SM4

Baby N was born into a military family and I wanted to incorporate some specialities into the session.

SM5

An adorable baby boy sleeping in a basket.

SM6

Another military shot…with that sweet face!

It was such a pleasure to meet you sweet baby N.  Thank you for allowing me to shove my camera in your face, you made some beautiful pictures 🙂

Bridget’s 40th Birthday!

SM1

A very special friend of mine turned the big 4-0 this month and when her hubby contacted me about photographing the surprise party for her, I swiftly responded “YES!”  I was so excited to not only be apart of this special time but also to be responsible for capturing the party through my photography…it was such an awesome day!

SM2

When he planned this party for his beautiful bride, he did not miss a beat! Everything coordinated in color, theme, and the room literally sparkled just as she does.

SM3

The party girl’s daddy even had fun with the red carpet at the “after party”!

SM4

The birthday girl with her precious family.

SM5

Red carpet you ask?!  He wanted her to feel like she was walking the red carpet when she arrived to the party, as well as each of her guest.  So what better way than to have a red carpet (literally), a huge backdrop, and a photographer snapping “red carpets pics” as they arrived.  The backdrop read “Happy Birthday Bridget” and had her initials with “40th” behind.  I’m telling you, he thought of everything!

SM6

Me with the birthday girl…I find myself much more comfortable on the other side of the camera!

SM7

You know how they say the prettier the cake usually means it doesn’t taste as good…SO NOT the case with this cake.  It was gorgeous AND tasted amazing!

SM8

Gorgeous girl cutting her cake!

SM9

Goofy picture of the party crowd.

SM10

…and one serious one!

SM11

I’ve always said I love sitting back and capturing the moments through my pictures…SO true at events.  It’s fun to get the detail shots, and the posed with friends or family pictures…but capturing the laughs, smiles, and emotions is priceless!

SM12

Sweet couple!

SM13

SM14

Seeing the excitement in her face and the surprise in her eyes when she walked around the corner and saw her family and friends waiting to celebrate her special day…literally brought tears to my eyes.  She’s such a beautiful person with an amazing heart, who would do anything for those she loves…it’s so nice to see her being pampered and loved the way this man loves her.  You two are so special, not only to each other but to us as well and I’m so thankful to have been apart of your special day and wish you many more years of happiness!

Jenna’s Maternity Session

This family is expecting Baby Cooper in just a few short weeks, and I cannot wait to me him.  We met at Southwood for a quick maternity session on a gorgeous Florida fall afternoon.  The sun was setting fast so we snapped several pictures as fast as we could.

SM1

Big brother wasn’t a fan of posing, I’m not either little man!  So I let him do his thing.  Children are not easily posed and if you are able to pose them, you most likely will get a look of unhappiness in their face.  I rather have true happiness in their face, so I let them go and do…it worked perfectly in this session.  Brother didn’t want to pose with sister, but look at that smile- pure happiness and an adorable picture!

SM2

Nothing is sweeter than a momma’s love!

SM3

I think it is safe to say this family is excited to meet their baby brother.

SM5SM6

As the sun started setting through the trees, I couldn’t help myself but take advantage of the gorgeous warm glow it cast on this beautiful mommy-to-be.

SM9

More pictures of brother being a little boy, and it can’t be any more perfect!

SM10SM11

He is excited to meet his brother.  That sweet smile, and those eyes!

SM12

The more I look at these pictures, the more I fall in love with that setting sun all over again!

Usually, I do not share so many pictures in my favorites list, but I couldn’t resist from this session.  Congrats again Jenna, you are truly a glowing mommy-to-be and I cannot wait to meet that precious baby boy of yours!

Photo Gift Ideas

FIFTEEN!!!  We have fifteen days until Christmas! Can you believe it’s almost here? Are you feeling crunched for gift ideas? Do you have some gorgeous pictures you would love to use? I am here to help!  I have always been a fan of home made gifts, they are unique, sentimental, and usually are things you cannot just go buy at a store. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite photo gift ideas to share with you, so let’s get started!

All of the sites I’m going to share with you I found through Pinterest, gotta love that site!

First up is The Frugal Girls Coasters I have seen this idea for years and have always wanted to give it a try just have never gotten around to it.  They appear to be super easy, inexpensive, adorable, and very useful! Take some of your favorite pictures from the year, have them printed, pick up some tiles from the hardware store, Mod Podge those bad boys and you’re done! Grandma will never get tired of having her grand babies sitting on her coffee table!

Speaking of coffee table, how neat would it be to have these Photo Wooden Blocks from The Pinning Mama sitting on the coffee table each time you visited your parents?! I love this idea for so many reasons, it’s pretty child-proof being that it’s only wood and you can make as many or as few as you want.  Also very economical, these blocks could make gifts for several members of your family.  Grandma can place them on the coffee table, dad can take them to work to set on his desk (drill a few holes in the top and dad could use it as a pen holder!), could be a paper weight for the uncles at work, or even stacking block for the cousins in the family.  Get creative, paint them or stain them before adding your pictures. So many options!

I have to include a Christmas decoration, check out these Birch Photo Ornaments from View From The Fridge ! My parents LOVE Christmas, to the point they have something like 30 Christmas trees they decorate each year! I know right!? They would love to get these rustic ornaments of the kiddos each year.  What a neat tradition it would be to include an ornament of the children each year with the grandparents gifts? I just may have to try that… Again, this is another easy and inexpensive gift idea.  And the neat thing about these ornaments, they don’t have to be just for Christmas. Think about taking a picture of your little one dirty (I mean really dirty, like mud all over their face) and then take a picture of them clean and looking all cute.  You could give this as a gift to be used as a dishwasher sign to tell if the dishes are clean or dirty. You can write with a sharpie “dirty” on the dirty side and “clean” on the clean side. Use a magnet to attach it to the dishwasher!

Last, but certainly not least, is my personal favorite Mini Calendars from Its Always Autumn !!!! I just LOVE these. I always give calendars to our parents containing pictures of the kiddos throughout the year. Well this year, I’ve dropped the ball and haven’t ordered it. It’s so late now I worry about it getting here in time.  But thanks to Its Always Autumn, I’ve got an alternative! And I just love how cute they are.  I will definitely post my finished product when I’m done with these! Sorry, moms if y’all are reading this you know one of your gifts 😉

I hope that helps you finish your gift list, takes a little stress off your back, and helps you get creative. Pictures are so precious as they document our family memories, how awesome to share those memories with others through gifts!
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas!
